Who this policy covers
no-referer.com (“no-referer”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Nexlume Media LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company (Business ID 0008127980), with its registered office at 1209 Mountain Road Pl NE, Ste R, Albuquerque, NM 87110, United States. Contact privacy questions at [email protected].
This policy applies to the public website, account pages, short-link creation, redirects at /r/{code}, support mail, and the contact forms. It does not govern the websites you open after a short link. Those sites have their own privacy practices.
If a term used here is also used in the Terms of Service, it has the same meaning unless this policy gives it a narrower one. If you do not agree with this policy, do not create an account or submit a destination URL.
Controller and processor
For account data, support messages, and links you create while signed in, Nexlume Media LLC decides why and how that information is processed. In privacy-law terms, we are the controller of that information.
Companies that host the site, deliver email, or run the cookie-consent banner process information only so they can provide those services to us. In those cases they act as processors. A destination website that receives a visitor after a redirect is a separate controller of whatever that site collects on its own pages.
Personal data
Personal data means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. That includes an account email, a support message, an IP address in a security log, and a short link tied to a signed-in account.
A destination URL by itself is not a profile of the person who clicks it. Once it is stored against an account, or once a log line can be tied back to a person, we treat the record as personal data.
How we legitimately process personal data
Where a privacy law requires a legal basis, we rely on one of the following:
- Contract: creating the short link, keeping My URLs, and answering a request you sent us.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the service reliable, blocking abuse, and understanding which product screens are used, balanced against your rights.
- Consent: non-essential cookies, where the banner asks for a choice before those cookies run.
- Legal obligation: retaining or disclosing records when the law requires it.
Information we collect
We collect personal data in three ways: information you type in, information recorded when the service runs, and information a provider sends us so a feature you asked for can work.
Account creation
When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a password that we store only as a hash. Signing in later uses that email and password. We do not offer social-network login, and we do not pull a profile from another site.
Creating a short link
You can shorten a URL with or without an account. We store the https destination, the short code or alias, and the time the link was created. Signed-in links also store a click count on that code. Anyone who has the short URL can open it. The destination itself is visible to the person who created the link.
Plans
Free, Pro, Bulk, and Enterprise describe how the product is offered. This website does not store payment-card numbers. If a paid plan is arranged, billing details are handled in that conversation and are not kept as a card record in the link database.
Support and forms
If you write to support, sales, or the abuse form, we keep the name, email, subject, and message you send, plus our reply. Abuse reports may also include the short code or URL you flag.
Log data
Servers record technical data needed to run and protect the site: IP address, browser type, the time of the request, and the address that was requested. A click on /r/{code} is counted for the link. That tally is not a map of who the visitor is.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep a signed-in session, protect forms, and remember a consent choice. The redirect itself is built so it does not set a marketing cookie on the hop. Details are in the Cookie Policy.
Information we do not ask for
We do not ask for special-category data such as health, religion, biometrics, or precise location. Do not put that kind of information in a support message or an alias.
We do not buy marketing lists, and we do not receive a social-media profile just because you paste one of our links into a post.
Why we use it
We use personal data for these purposes:
- To create the short link, redirect the visitor, and show My URLs and click counts to the account that owns the link.
- To sign you in and keep the session secure.
- To answer support, sales, and abuse mail.
- To detect misuse, such as phishing destinations or automated traffic that threatens the service.
- To understand, in aggregate, which pages and forms are used.
- To meet a legal duty or respond to a lawful request.
How we share it
A short link is meant to be shared. Some information therefore leaves our systems because of how the product works. We do not sell personal information.
The link you publish
The short URL and the destination it opens are available to anyone you give that short URL to. Publishing the link is the sharing step.
What the account can see
The account that created a link can see the destination and the click count. We do not hand that library to other customers.
Service providers
Hosting, email delivery, and the consent banner may receive the information they need to do that job. Their contracts limit them to providing the service to us.
Legal and corporate events
We may disclose information to comply with law, a court order, or a request from a competent authority, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the service. If the business is reorganized, merged, or sold, personal data may transfer with the service, under the same privacy commitments or notice of a change.
Marketing
We send mail about the thing you asked for: a support reply, an abuse follow-up, or a note about your account. We do not run an advertising network, and we do not pass your email to ad exchanges.
If we ever send an optional product announcement, it will include a way to stop those messages. Account and security mail can still be sent after that.
Do Not Track
Browsers can send a Do Not Track signal. There is no single industry rule for how a site must respond. We do not use that signal to change the redirect. You can still refuse non-essential cookies in the consent banner and in your browser.
International transfers
If you use the site from another country, your information may be processed where Nexlume Media LLC and its hosting or email providers keep their systems.
Where the law requires a specific safeguard for that transfer, we use the mechanism that law describes.
Retention
Account and link records stay while the account is open, and for a limited period after closure for backups, abuse review, and legal duties. Server logs are kept for a shorter security window and then deleted or aggregated.
You can ask us to delete account data. We may keep a record that we have to retain, such as an abuse report or a log needed to show how a security incident was handled.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data, to limit or object to some processing, and to withdraw consent for non-essential cookies.
Email [email protected] from the address on the account, and say which right you want to use. We will verify the request before we act. Some rights have exceptions, for example where a short link is part of an open abuse investigation.
Security
We protect personal data with access limits, HTTPS, and hashed passwords. No online service can promise that storage or transmission is immune to every attack. Use a unique password, and write to [email protected] if you think an account was used without permission.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 16, or under the higher age your local law sets for consent. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has registered or sent us information, email [email protected] and we will delete it where the law allows.
Changes
We may update this policy. The Last updated date at the top will change, and a material change will also be noted on the site. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated policy where the law allows that form of acceptance.
Third-party sites
A short link opens a site we do not operate. That site may set its own cookies and collect its own data after the redirect. Review its policy before you submit information there.
